First Look | Ray Harryhausen’s Ymir Statue From '20 Million Miles to Earth'

Ray Harryhausen‘s iconic Ymir has been recreated in stunning detail by Star Ace Toys

Just weeks after Star Ace Toys showed-off their stunning new statue of Ray Harryhausen’s Cyclops from The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, the toymaker has upped the ante with the reveal of their incredibly detailed Ymir statue from 20 Million Miles To Earth.

Set to be released under the X-Plus label,  the statue stands over 12.5″ tall and has been rewarded with two variants. Star Ace Toys are offering a Standard Version, with a logo base, and a Deluxe Version, which includes a lamp post and logo base. To ensure the best possible possibility, the Ymir will include moveable eyes and an articulated jaw.

Here’s the official line:

In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the master of movie stop motion animation, Ray Harryhausen, Star Ace is proud to release Ymir, the creature that came 20 million miles to Earth. This uniquely designed monster has a forked tail, scaly skin, and is ready to attack.

Traditionally sculpted by the artisans of the famed creature shop of Kaibutsuya, this detailed Ymir statue is made from soft vinyl and stands 32cm tall. Each piece is hand-painted to bring out the details of the sculpt. His eyes can roll, and his jaw moves up and down.

The Deluxe version of this statue includes a display base with the Harryhausen logo and a bent lamp post. The standard version includes the logo base only.

Produced with the permission of The Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation (Charity Number SC001419).

The Ymir is one of Ray’s most beloved creations and Star Ace Toys have gone above and beyond to recreate its majesty in stunning detail.

As of press time, Star Ace Toys are yet to confirm a price for this stunning statue, nor have they confirmed a release date – but this is one statue that will truly be worth the wait. Check back for the latest updates as they emerge.

Kudos Star Ace Toys.
