Temuera Morrison will don the iconic Mandalorian armor for his very own spin-off
As confirmed during the post-credits sequence of The Mandalorian Season 2 finale, The Book Of Boba Fett, a spin-off series is emerging out of lightspeed and onto Disney+ for Christmas 2021. Among other things, the breathtaking season finale laid down the roadmap for future adventures in the galaxy far, far away. And standing out amongst the crowd was the future adventures of the galaxy’s greatest Bounty Hunter.

Finale
In The Mandalorian season 2 finale’s post-credits scene, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) return to Jabba’s Palace on Tatooine, where Bib Fortuna now rules. However, Fett has other ideas. He dispatches his former comrade before asserting himself on the throne and assuming control of the criminal underworld on Tatooine. As the screen fades to black – The Book Of Boba Fett was confirmed for release Christmas 2021.

Today Lucasfilm has officially confirmed that the mini-series will star Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen and will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez. Rodriguez directed Boba Fett’s iconic return in The Mandalorian Chapter 14 “The Tragedy”.
The reveal comes just days following the Disney Investor Day confirmed that the storylines of both Star Wars: Ahsoka and Rangers Of the New Republic would intertwine with the events of The Mandalorian Season 3. The Book Of Boba Fett has been confirmed to take place in the same timeline as The Mandalorian.

The Future
As to what the events of The Book Of Boba Fett will explore, the post-credits scene of The Mandalorian Season 2 teased Boba assuming control of the remnants of Jabba The Hutt’s cartel and rebuilding the criminal underworld with Fennec Shand at his side. Whether this will remain the series’ mandate remains to be seen. But it is going to be an absolute blast to finding out. Could we see the long-awaited return of Bossk and the expansion of the Bounty Hunters Guild as Boba restructures his new empire? Only time will tell.

Boba Fett had a glorious legacy before he returned in The Mandalorian Season 2. Now, thanks to Jon Favreau, the galaxy’s greatest Bounty Hunter has an exciting future ahead of him.
