Young And The Restless’ Actress Sasha Calle will suit up as the Girl Of Steel for Andy Muschietti’s Flash movie
The DC Universe has cast Emmy nominee Sasha Calle as the new Supergirl. The actress rose to prominence in Young And The Restless and blew Andy Muschietti away during the casting process. According to Deadline, both the director and DC Films boss Walter Hamada were captivated by her performance. Citing the toughness and vulnerability she brought to the role.
Calle was chosen from more than 425 actresses who auditioned. And although the majority of the casting process took place via zoom call, Calle also managed to squeeze in a chemistry read with Ezra Miller.
“I saw more than four hundred auditions. The talent pool was truly amazing and it was very hard to make a decision, but we finally found an actress who was destined to play this role,” said Muschietti
Calle will be flying in action very soon and will make history when she suits up for The Flash. In a landmark bit of casting, Calle will break new ground as the first-ever Latina Supergirl. And she’ll be doing it alongside some of the biggest DC icons of all-time!

What a wonderful heartfelt reaction. It is so refreshing to see a role mean THIS much to an actress. And a talented one at that. After all, Calle was nominated last year in the Outstanding Young Performer in a Drama Series category at the Daytime Emmys. And now she will bring her considerable talents to bear on the DC Universe as our new Supergirl.
Welcome to the DCEU Sasha.
