Star Ace Toys has announced an all-new vinyl statue of Talos from Ray Harryhausen’s all-time classic Jason And The Argonauts
Star Ace Toys are setting their sights on the wonders of Ray Harryhausen’s Jason And The Argonauts. But unlike Jason, they aren’t after the Golden Fleece. They seek a treasure far bigger – and far more deadly! The Isle of Bronze is heavily defended. Not by human hands, but by the hands of TALOS. And today, Star Ace Toys has revealed the bronze behemoth as their latest addition to the Ray Harryhausen Collection.
THE ISLE OF BRONZE
In the classic 1963 film, Jason and his starving crew set sail for the Isle of Bronze in search of food and supplies. Ignoring the warnings of Hera to take only provisions, Hercules takes a huge broach. The pilfering awakens the gigantic statue of the Greek god Talos, who attacks the Argonauts in retribution.
TALOS
The Talos statue stands over 12.5″ tall and is made from soft vinyl. It features a sword in one hand, and the Argo, being pulled from the water in the other. Star Ace will be making two versions of the statue available to order. A standard edition. And a Deluxe. The latter comes with the bonus of a polyresin diorama rock display base from the scene.
Jason and the Argonauts – Talos Soft Vinyl Statue (Deluxe Version)
The Greek hero Jason encountered the giant Bronze monster Talos when one of his crew stole from the treasure the giant guarded. Chased by the 70-meter-tall giant, Jason’s ship was plucked from the water by Talos and the sailors had to jump for their lives.
Traditionally sculpted by the artisans of the famed creature shop of Kaibutsuya, this detailed Talos statue is made from soft vinyl and stands 32cm tall. Each piece is hand-painted to look like it has an ancient Bronze finish. He is posed with his sword in one hand and bending over to pull the ship out of the water, the boat is supported by a sculpted water splash.
The Deluxe version of this statue includes a display diorama base with part of the lagoon and the rocks on either side of the channel. It is limited to only 800 pieces worldwide that include a diorama base.

This amazing statue looks spectacular. The Deluxe version will release in the third quarter of 2021 and will set you back $288.99. The standard edition will have the same release date, but Star Ace Toys is yet to reveal a price. So check back regularly for updates.
With the Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation recently celebrating Ray’s centenary, I can think of no better way to commemorate it than with this wonderful statue.
