We’re halfway through The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I can’t believe I’m saying that but it’s so true it’s making me HAPPY! As with WandaVision, I’m here to share my mid-season ranking of this latest Marvel Disney+ series. Boy, boy, do I love this show.
3. Episode 1: New World Order
The premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier started with a fantastic action sequence and then took their foot off of the throttle, delivering some emotional moments from both Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes that felt like a perfect setup for the rest of the series. And then, that ending. It was a great beginning to what is, so far, one of the best installments in the MCU.
2. Episode 3: Power Broker
Episode 3 was really good, as expected. We got to see plenty of Zemo, Sharon Carter was a total boss, and Sam and Bucky took a bit of a backseat as the writers let the story transport them to the next phase of the story.
1. Episode 2: Star-Spangled Man
The second episode gave me everything I was waiting for; Sam and Bucky’s hilarious interactions, more of the new Captain America, and some surprises I wasn’t quite expecting. The heart of this show lies with Sam, Bucky, and John Walker and you can tell. When they are the stars of the episode the series is at its absolute blast and I’m just waiting for the moment when Sam and Bucky finally get over their hump and ultimately become besties. That’s going to be an awesome moment and I honestly just might tear up.
Plus, Sam’s going to start believing in that shield. How and when we’ll see but I’m ready!!!!
