Hot Toys Review | Death Watch Mandalorian (Star Wars: The Mandalorian)

Thomas Storai says THIS IS THE WAY to make a Hot Toys Death Watch Mandalorian! It will look great in your collection!

The Death Watch Mandalorian is one of Hot Toys’ latest releases in Hong Kong and Sideshow (the official distributor) is currently shipping some of the pre-orders.

THE BOX AND ACCESSORIES

The box has the same design as the other Star Wars collectibles – black with a picture of the figure and the Star Wars logo. The Mandalorian figures have an orange/brown stripe.

This figure doesn’t have many accessories though, it comes with what’s needed. Six interchangeable hands, two different weapons (the classic Mandalorian blaster pistol first introduced in The Clone Wars and a Boba Fett-type blaster). A jetpack with thrust fire effects and a second thigh guard. The two weapons are nicely sculpted and they have some paint scratches to give it a “battle look.”

The display base is the same sandy environment that has been used many times by Hot Toys. I love the sculpted sand but the footprints are a problem. It would be a much better stand without the footprints. Indeed, when you pose the figure if the feet are not on the footprints, it does look weird. The stand included is a dynamic one for better action poses with the jetpack!

THE FIGURE

This is a simple figure but it does look great! His armor is painted in blue with some white marks including the Death Watch logo. The armor parts have beautiful weathering and some parts even have dents. Which look fantastic! You have a real Mandalorian warrior there! You can actually have two. Indeed, the right thigh guard has a second option. So if you get a second one, you can have it displayed with a slightly different look. I think a lot of fans will appreciate it!

This Mandalorian has a Jango/Boba type of helmet which means he has an antenna. It moves but be careful as it’s a very thin piece. This figure has over 30 points of articulation. So you can get some great action poses. Though the articulation range for the helmet is limited so keep that in mind when you’re posing him.
