Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante according to the synopsis for The Batman
Despite releasing two intense trailers for The Batman, Warner Bros has kept the plot details for Matt Reeves’ noir Bat-flick under wraps. But all that is about to change. The studio has released an updated synopsis that reveals that Bruce Wayne will be struggling to balance rage with righteousness. At the same time as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Read the full synopsis below:
“THE BATMAN is an edgy, action-packed thriller that depicts Batman in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting.”
MATT REEVES
We’ve known for some time that Matt Reeves’ adventure would be fleshing out The Dark Knight’s early years. But the synopsis suggests that Bruce Wayne will be struggling to come to terms with his new double life. Which is a tantalizing prospect. The best Dark Knight stories focus heavily on this period, but never in this depth. And from the trailer footage, it seems that we will be seeing a far more aggressive incarnation of the Caped Crusader than ever before. And that is great for the fans.
Hopefully, if the movie propagates a sequel, we should see the Caped Crusader we know and love begin to form; eventually becoming the great detective he was destined to be. And that has the chance to be the greatest bat-saga ever committed to screen. So get ready Gothamites, the next few years are going to get very interesting!
