Thomas’ Review | The Book of Boba Fett (Episode 4: The Gathering Storm)

It’s Wednesday so it’s time for a new episode of The Book of Boba Fett. This one is entitled ‘The Gathering Storm.’

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Once again this episode is divided in two storylines – the past and the present. And this time, each part has roughly the same screen time. The flashbacks wrap up the loose ends left last week concluding Boba’s story before we meet him in The Mandalorian.

Throughout, the first four episodes we got to see Boba evolve. And what happened in these flashbacks do influence how Boba is in the present. It’s a rebirth of the character. Now we do understand why he stopped being a bounty hunter and decided to be the Daimyo of Mos Espa. Fleshing out a character obviously makes him more interesting than just a mysterious helmeted figure.

This episode also delves into why Fennec Shand decided to work with Boba Fett. Fennec and Boba are such a great team so I am obviously happy to see how it all started. Plus, these flashbacks do feature some badass action!

PREPARING FOR WAR

The present timeline focuses on what was layed out last week – Boba is going to war against the Pykes. Though, he can’t go to war without an army. So, he has to recruit more people. This episode focuses on Boba trying to gather some allies. It’s an interesting part as it shows Boba’s skills in leadership and in negotiations. Plus, it has me very excited for what comes next. The final three episodes are sure to be action-packed!

VERDICT

The Book of Boba Fett delivers an exciting episode. Temuera Morrison continues to bring so much to the character, it’s the Star Wars content we need right now!
