Review | Sasaki and Miyano (Episode 5: Bit by Bit)

“Sasaki and Miyano delivers its best episode yet, it’s as sweet as it gets!”

It’s Sunday, so you know what that means – it’s time for a new episode of Sasaki and Miyano!

DECLARATION OF LOVE

This week’s episode is without any doubt my favorite of the series so far. It’s so good. I’ve been waiting for this moment since the beginning. Sasaki deeply loves Miyano, he wants to be more than just a friend. So he finally confesses to Miyano that he loves him. And this time, he makes sure Miyano understands it’s not a joke. It’s such a sweet and beautiful scene. Obviously, Sasaki is stressed out, thus the scene is a bit awkward but it’s the cute kind of awkward. I was cheering at the screen when it happened. Though, they do not get together yet, it’s a turning point for both characters. Indeed, now Miyano knows for sure Sasaki’s feelings.

A CUTE FACE

Though, some problems do appear. Miyano has struggled with his “effeminate” face throughout his life. And Sasaki telling him he loves him because of his cute face doesn’t help. Sasaki loves him for so much more than his cute face but he didn’t get to tell him because of the stress and Kuresawa did interrupt them.

The confusion for Miyano gets resolved by the end of the episode when Sasaki tells him he loves him for more than just his face. It’s another sweet scene. It makes Miyano quite happy and the way the episode ends makes me want to be next Sunday right now! This series is so endearing. It warms my heart.

HIRANO

Hirano is friend with both Miyano and Sasaki. He’s a fun character and the support our main characters deserve. When Sasaki tells him he loves Miyano and that he didn’t say everything he needed to say, It’s an important scene because it’s actually the first time Sasaki tells his friend he likes a guy. And Hirano has the best reaction because he is the one to tell him to clear things up. That leads to the sweet scene I mentioned above.
