Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, Shudder drops a new trailer for THE REEF: STALKED. Premiering on July 29
You’ll never want to go in the water again because Shudder has dropped an all-new trailer for THE REEF: STALKED. The intense new movie features a group of kayakers as they set off on a diving adventure. But waiting beneath the surface is the chilling silhouette of a Great White Shark, and it’s hunting for prey. Written and directed by Andrew Traucki (The Reef), The Reef: Stalked looks absolutely chilling and is a shoo-in to put you off swimming for the summer! But don’t take my word for it. Check out the unnerving new trailer below:
SYNOPSIS
In an effort to heal after witnessing her sister’s horrific murder, Nic travels to a tropical resort with her friends for a kayaking and diving adventure. Only hours into their expedition, the women are stalked and then attacked by a great white shark. To survive they will need to band together and Nic will have to overcome her post-traumatic stress, face her fears and slay the monster.
SHUDDER
Written and directed by Andrew Traucki, The Reef: Stalked stars Teressa Liane (The Vampire Diaries), Ann Truong (Cowboy Bebop), and Kate Lister (Clickbait).
The Reef (2010) was one of the better shark movies to hit our screens in recent years. Steven Spielberg’s Jaws pretty much defined the entire genre and will never be emulated. However, The Shallows, the original Deep Blue Sea, and The Meg have all been entertaining movies in their own right. But can Traucki capture lightning in a bottle again and deliver a worthy follow-up to his original movie? All will be revealed in just a few short weeks.
The Reef: Stalked will be available exclusively to stream on the platform starting on Friday, July 29, 2022. As a Shudder exclusive, the platform will be the only subscription service that will carry the film in the U.S.; Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
