The incomparable Academy Award-nominee Carol Kane is joining the cast of Star Trek Strange New Worlds as Chief Engineer Pelia
After the gripping first season finale, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is searching for a new Chief Engineer. The Enterprise has always had a steady pair of hands in the engine room. But in Season 2, Captain Pike will require a new face to help fill the void. And thanks to a big reveal during the Star Trek Day celebrations, we now know who will be stepping in to fill Hemmer’s massive shoes.
It has been announced that the incomparable Academy Award-nominee Carol Kane will join the crew for Season 2. What’s more, the screen legend will have a recurring role as Chief Engineer Pelia. Highly educated and intelligent, the Enterprise’s new senior engineering officer suffers no fools. Pelia solves problems calmly and brusquely, thanks to her many years of experience.
And if that isn’t enough to have you dancing around the warp core, Paramount+ dropped the first clip from season 2 which you can enjoy below.
CHIEF ENGINEER PELIA
Unfortunately for us, Paramount is keeping the extent of Kane’s role a closely guarded secret for now. But being cast as the Enterprise’s new Chief Engineer is no small task. Eventually, Montgomery Scott (Scotty) will arrive to begin his multi-decade career aboard the famous vessel. But until then, Pelia will have her work cut out for her as the Enterprise sets course for another season. And with the arrival of James T. Kirk, season 2 of the landmark Star Trek series looks set to be one of the best yet.
What a great time to be a Star Trek fan.
