Jenna Ortega will return to the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore in a second season of the hit Netflix Addams Family spin-off Wednesday
Rejoice Wednesday fans because Jenna Ortega is coming back for more torture in a second season of the hit Addams Family spin-off. Although the uber-popular series just wrapped its gripping first season, fans can’t get enough of the goth torture! And thankfully, Netflix can’t either. This isn’t a surprise given the series has been streamed a whopping 1 billion hours on the platform and overtook Dahmer to become the second-most watched show behind Stranger Things Season 4.
“We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore,” Wednesday Season 1 co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough told Tudum. “We just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”

ANNOUNCEMENT
The renewal news comes with a video announcement promising more “torture” ahead for Wednesday in Season 2. Naturally, the amateur detective and mystery writer wouldn’t have it any other way. And Jenna Ortega added “Wednesday sticks to her guns, and she’s not out to please anybody. Which, as someone who used to be an immense people pleaser, I really respect.”
Our reviewer Thomas Storai praised the gripping first season for its incredible casting. Especially Jenna Ortega who he says is “simply perfect casting!” read his review here. And if that isn’t enough to have you dropping a bag of piranha into the pool, explore the evolution of Wednesday Addams with our very own Darcie Gray here.
SEASON 2
Sadly, Netflix is keeping all plot details about the second season locked away under the watchful gaze of THING. But we expect Emma Myers to return as Enid Sinclair alongside the mesmerizing Jenna Ortega. And we envision the unlikely duo to resume the search for the Hyde. Who may or may not be in police custody? And if there is any justice in the world, co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough will bring Gwendoline Christie’s Principal Larissa Weems back to oversee things at Nevermore! The show just wouldn’t be the same without her.
