NHS patients in hospital will also be amongst the first in the UK to see Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on 25th March at MediCinemas in Newport, Newcastle, and London.
eOne Entertainment has pulled out all the stops this week in their desire to cater to everyone for their upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Hot off of the announcements that Sue Perkins has recorded the audio description of the film for the visually impaired viewers, and the announcement that Picturehouse cinemas are catering especially to the d/deaf audience, comes the news that Medicinema will be conducting special previews of the film for NHS hospital patients.
The special charity previews will be taking place on Saturday, 25th March in 228 locations in the UK. Also, those NHS patients in the hospital will be able to see the film on the same day at the Medicinemas located in Newport, Newcastle, and London. The move to cater to everyone who wishes to see the film is one of the best decisions that have been made, allowing those who would usually have to miss out on the chance to check out the film to experience it.
THE DETAILS
To celebrate the opening of Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves in the UK via eOne, special previews will take place in cinemas across the country on Saturday 25th March. Distributor eOne and participating cinemas will donate all income received from ticket sales to support the work of MediCinema. On the same day, patients in hospital will also be treated to a special preview at the in-hospital cinemas run by MediCinema: at the Serennu Children’s Centre in Newport, the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, Guy’s and the Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals in London.
Starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, Daisy Head, and Hugh Grant, the movie is an epic fantasy based on Hasbro’s iconic tabletop game Dungeons and Dragons.
MediCinema is a charity that improves the well-being and quality of life of NHS patients and their families through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. It builds and runs cinemas inside hospitals, designed to accommodate space for beds, wheelchairs, and medical equipment. Its services help to improve emotional, mental, and physical health, reducing feelings of isolation, anxiety, and stress, and increasing patient resilience. Last year more than 10,000 patients and their families in hospital watched a film in a MediCinema.
Exhibitors taking part include: Vue, Cineworld, Showcase + Cine DeLux, Odeon, The Light, Empire, Everyman, WTW + Scott Cinemas, Savoy Cinemas, Film Centre Wells and Abbeygate Bury St Edmunds. Customers can find out where the 25th March special previews are taking place by visiting medicinema.dndfilmuk.co.uk.
