Set in 1920s Shanghai, we will discover all we need to know in HBO Max’s Gremlins: Secrets Of The Mogwai.
While we still await the third film in the Gremlins franchise, HBO Max will be bringing us the animated prequel show Gremlins: Secrets Of The Mogwai. The series is set in 1920s Shanghai and will focus on the young Sam Wing as he meets the lovable Gizmo for the very first time. Izaac Wang will voice the young Sam and will be joined on vocal duties by Ming-Na Wen, B. D. Wong, James Hong, and Zach Galligan as Billy Peltzer. The first trailer for the show has been released.
THE PREMISE
The series will focus on how 10-year-old Sam Wing met the young Mogwai called Gizmo. Along with a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam, and Gizmo take a perilous journey through the Chinese countryside, encountering, and sometimes battling, colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore. On their quest to return Gizmo to his family and uncover a legendary treasure, they are pursued by a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins.
Gremlins: Secrets Of The Mogwai will premiere on HBO Max on May 23rd.
