Listen to the new bombastic theme for the Maximals by Jongnic Bontemps, now available on the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts soundtrack. Be the first to hear it!
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts arrives in cinemas next week, and Paramount Pictures is eager to pour fuel into the hype Astrotrain! This week, the studio has released some fantastic featurettes showcasing various aspects of the movie, including production and sound. And one of the many focal points is Jongnic Bontemps’ new score. Bontemps becomes only the third composer to tackle the live-action Transformers universe after Steve Jablonsky and Dario Marianelli. So the pressure is on the new composer to deliver a soundtrack that hits the right notes.
But thankfully, we won’t have to wait until the movie hits our screens to get our first listen to his music. Thanks to a recent drop on YouTube, fans can get their first listen to the theme for the Maximals. And if you were hoping for a bombastic, primal, and heroic theme you’re in luck. But don’t take my word for it. Dust off your Energon cubes and hit play on the video below.
Bontemps appears to have hit the ground running to deliver a theme the fans can be proud of. The tribal drum beats accompanying the theme provide a unique perspective on the symphonic themes found in the Transformers universe. But this new sound fits the source material to perfection. In addition, it should be noted that Steve Jablonsky has added to the score and created fresh cues based on his 2007 soundtrack, specifically “Arrival to Earth” and “No Sacrifice, No Victory.”. Moreover, Vince DiCola’s “Unicron Medley” is expected to accompany the arrival of the franchise’s greatest villain which will delight long-term fans everywhere. So, I think it’s safe to assume that Bontemps is pulling out all the stops to deliver a score for the ages. And that alone is enough to get us excited!

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts looks set to be one of the biggest events of the summer. And we are one hundred percent here for it. The live-action debut of the Maximals, Predacons, and the Terrorcons has been a very long time coming. After all, the latter all featured in the original Gen 1 animated series and were an intricate part of Galvatron’s Decepticon army. So seeing the characters realized in live-action is an enticing prospect. And with Bumblebee and Optimus Prime thrown into the mix, we could be set for one of the most ambitious Transformers movies to date.
The iconic robots in disguise transform and roll out in U.K. cinemas from June 8th, 2023.
