Apple Original Films & Skydance Animation announces the cast information for the musical fairytale Spellbound.
Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation has released the casting news and new art for the Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation musical fairytale, “Spellbound,”. The animated movie stars Rachel Zegler, Academy Award nominee John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, and Nathan Lane. With Academy Award-winners Javier Bardem and Nicole Kidman, it will be premiering globally on Apple TV+ in 2024. In other news, Apple TV+ award-winning talent Titus Burgess is extending his relationship with Apple and is joining the cast.
THE DETAILS
Spellbound will premiere globally on Apple TV+ in 2024. The movie is an Apple Original Film by Skydance Animation. The story is a musical fairytale and tells a universal story that centers on a terrible spell that has turned a king and queen into monsters, leaving their daughter, Princess Ellian (voiced by Rachel Ziegler), to manage the kingdom on her own.
THE CAST AND CREW
Directed by Vicky Jenson who won the first ever Animated Feature Academy Award for “Shrek.”, the all-star voice cast is led by Rachel Zegler. Joining her will be Academy Award-nominee John Lithgow, Jennifer Lewis, and Nathan Lane. With Academy Award-winner Nicole Kidman and Academy Award-winner, Javier Bardem also voicing roles. Additionally, Apple TV+ award-winning talent Titus Burgess is extending his relationship with Apple. And who will join the cast ahead of the presentation at Annecy.
THE SCORE
In addition to the outstanding voice cast (who each do their own singing), the film features an original score and original songs from 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, with lyrics by Oscar nominee Glenn Slater.

THE WRITERS & PRODUCERS
An exciting animated movie, it is written by Lauren Hynek & Elizabeth Martin (“Mulan”), and Linda Woolverton (“Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King”) It is produced by John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bruce Anderson for Skydance Animation.
Director Vicky Jenson and Head of Story Brian Pimental will present a “Work in Progress” panel. This will be held on Tuesday, June 13 at the Annecy Film Festival.
