Captain Tsubasa is back for a second season on Crunchyroll!

Let’s go to Europe! Japan’s most famous soccer series is back for a second season this Fall. The second season of Captain Tsubasa is the Jr. Youth Arc. The first episode released this weekend on Crunchyroll. New episodes are premiering after its broadcast in Japan, every Sunday at 11:00, only on Crunchyroll.

Based on the manga created by Yoichi Takahashi, Captain Tsubasa was popularised in Europe by a first anime produced in the 1980s and broadcasted on television across Europe. The show has been known by various names such as Campeones: Oliver y Benji (Spain), Holly e Benji: Due fuoriclasse (Italy), Olive et Tom: champions de foot (France) or Die tollen Fußballstars (Germany).

Captain Tsubasa Season 2, Jr. Youth Arc is the direct sequel to a new anime produced in 2018. The series is available on Crunchyroll in Europe and North Africa in the following languages (subs only): English, French, German, Castilian, Italian, Russian.


In preparation for the International Junior Youth Tournament, Japan selects players from the Nankatsu Middle School and Toho Academy Middle School teams: Tsubasa, Taro, Genzo, Kojiro, and Ken. They join some of Japan’s best players in Paris. They’ll need to beat the best teams from around the world to become champions. The competition is fierce. Let the tournament begin!
