This week on The Official Chart, Gran Turismo speeds in, and Hellraiser is back, but Barbie retakes the top spot!
Welcome to The Official Film Chart.
FOUR TITLES IN, FOUR TITLES OUT!
This week sees a shakeup in the titles in the top ten. We have gained three new titles and one re-entry. These four titles have muscled their way into the placings, dislodging Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, Insidious: The Red Door, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3, and The Nun II. Where have these titles entered the chart, and what is occupying the top spot this week? It’s a return to life in plastic as we begin our look.
BARBIE MAKES A SPARKLING RETURN TO NUMBER ONE!
Barbie makes a sparkling return to Number 1 on the Official Film Chart following its release on disc. The Greta Gerwig-directed, record-breaking blockbuster saw its release on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD last week, and as a result, leapfrogs from Number 3 back up to Number 1. With 51% of its sales this week made up of physical copies, the film still has a strong showing on digital downloads, too. (Read our review here.)

MISSION: DEFEATED!
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 is pushed down to Number 2. (Read our review here.)

THE MEG GETS THAT SINKING FEELING!
The most downloaded film of the week. Meg 2: The Trench also falls one place to Number 3. (Read our review here.)

GRAN TURISMO SPEEDS IN!
Our highest new entry of the week speeds straight in at Number 4; Gran Turismo, starring David Harbour, Orlando Bloom and Archie Madekwe, makes its debut on digital downloads only. (Read our review here.)

SPIDER-MAN CRAWLS BACK UP INTO THE TOP TEN!

INDIANA JONES IS RAIDING NUMBER SIX!
Former chart-topper Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is down two places at Number 6. (Read our review here.)

HELLRAISER BRINGS A QUARTET OF TORMENT!
A boxset of the original four Hellraiser movies, Hellraiser: Quartet of Torment, debuts in the Top 10 at Number 7 following its special limited edition 4K release just in time for Halloween.

MARIO STILL BOUNCING ON THE SPOT!
The Super Mario Bros. Movie continues to bounce on the spot as it holds onto Number 8.

THE PRACTICAL MAGIC RUNS OUT!
Practical Magic loses its powers as it falls two places to Number 9.

WILL YOU TALK TO ME?
Rounding out the Top 10 is the terrifying horror Talk To Me, which sees a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand – but soon things go too far when they accidentally open the door to the spirit world. (Read our review here.)

OUTSIDE THE TOP TEN
Outside the Top 10, several spookier entries land inside the Top 20. Genre-defining classic The Exorcist returns at Number 11, while Tim Burton’s charming stop-motion musical The Corpse Bride lifts two to Number 13, a new peak. The Pope’s Exorcist at 15 rises three, Beetlejuice at 17 teleports up eight places, and The Nun II tumbles eight but retains a place in the Top 20 at Number 18. Finally, the 2023 horror Cobweb is a new entry at Number 20. An eight-year-old boy investigates mysterious knocking sounds coming from inside the walls of his house, unveiling a terrifying secret his parents insist was all in his imagination.

AND WE ARE DONE!
That is this week’s best-selling titles. Next week, Barbie faces a challenge from Blue Beetle, which is now available to buy after coming off of PVOD. (Read our review here.) Who will triumph in the battle for number one? Find out next Wednesday, so until then…
Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
