Godzilla rampages across a post-apocalyptic Japan in the latest trailer for Toho’s Godzilla Minus One
Just days after the movie secured a UK release date, Toho has dropped an all-new trailer for GODZILLA MINUS ONE. And if you were hoping for an epic adventure with the King of the Monsters rampaging across Japan, you’ve come to the right place. Not only does the trailer reveal more of what a ravaged post-war Japan looks like, but we also get our best look yet at Godzilla himself. But if that isn’t enough to have you reaching for your MonsterVerse boxset, the big Z lights up his spinal plates and charges his atomic fire breath – with devastating consequences. Trust me, it’s enough to have you screaming with glee! Especially if you’re a massive monster nerd like me!
As mentioned above, Anime Limited and Toho Co., Ltd recently announced that Godzilla Minus One will be stomping into cinemas in the United Kingdom and Ireland from 15th December 2023. That’s right, the King of the Monsters will be rampaging across our screens in time for Christmas. And that is the ultimate festive treat. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Scroll down and explore the trailer below and prepare to have your mind blown.
SYNOPSIS
The worst despair in the series’ history strikes Japan! After the war, Japan has been reduced to zero. Godzilla appears and plunges the country into a negative state. The most desperate situation in the history of Japan. Who? And how? Will Japan stand up to it?
TAKASHI YAMAZAKI
Minus One will be Toho’s first effort since Shin Godzilla. The 2016 monster hit was made all the more spectacular by the special effects of Takashi Yamazaki. And Toho has tasked the filmmaker with bringing the new movie to our screens. It comes at a time when the Big Z is more popular with audiences than ever before. For the most part, that can be attributed to his stint in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, which Zilla shares with King Kong. But with Toho as the driving force behind the new project, monster fans will be salivating at the prospect.
RELEASE
So, the tail end of 2023 is looking like a bumper time for cinephiles and monster fans alike. And Godzilla will be leading the charge, and we are 100% here for it. What will transpire in Toho’s newest addition to the monster legacy remains to be seen. But you can bet your bottom dollar that Future of the Force will be here to bring you all the juicy details.
