“This is definitely the ultimate Hot Toys Doctor Strange figure. It comes with a lot of accessories including an additional headsculpt and a great costume update!”
Hot Toys is sending us back into the Multiverse of Madness with their latest Doctor Strange figure. Was it worth the wait?
THE BOX AND ACCESSORIES

The box uses a design reminiscent of the character posters featuring Doctor Strange’s portrait surrounded by shattered glass. It’s a beautiful box and I do look forward to getting Scarlet Witch when she is released. When you remove the first part of the box, you get a window box and at the back the teaser poster of the film but only with Doctor Strange.
In terms of accessories, he comes with a lot of stuff giving you many possibilities for display, he even has an additional headsculpt featuring his third eye from the end of the film. The display base is a simple one featuring the design pattern from the promotion of the film. The font used for the nameplate is really cool! You can also attach another stand for the Cloak of Levitation which is nice. The Cloak of Levitation is a new one though with the blue patch at the back. It’s a small thing but I think it adds a little something to the cloak. There are wires so you can pose it the way you want.
Then, he has ten hands – two fist hands, two open hands, and two pairs of hands for mystic arts spells, one hand to hold a sling ring, and one hand to hold an accessory. The Eye of Agamoto is the same one that came with the previous versions of the figure. He also has the handcuffs, a nice accessory if you want to recreate scenes from Earth 838. Sadly Hot Toys hasn’t made figures from that universe, it’s a shame since they included this accessory. Plus, you get the Book of Vishanti, it can actually be opened like the Darkhold, as always with Hot Toys, it’s all about the details.
Finally, Doctor Strange has several Mystic Arts effects – two Mandala effects, and two pairs of other Mandalas in different sizes, these were included in previous versions of Doctor Strange, the new stuff is the two Vipers, these are nicely detailed, it’s great to have them and a Mystic Arts rope.
THE FIGURE

Doctor Strange got a proper costume update in the Multiverse of Madness, one that takes more inspiration from the comics with the cross logo while still maintaining the style of the first costume. It’s a nice mix that makes an amazing costume. It’s really a different figure.
The boots are two separate pieces which means you get feet articulation. The skirt is a heavy fabric like the previous versions of the figure but you can still move it to get the poses you want. You can attach the sling rings to the belt. It uses fabric and pleather. As usual with Hot Toys, you can see the level of dedication for details, the pattern inside his cross logo on his outfit is an intricate one and they nailed it.
THE HEADSCULPT

As for the headsculpt, it was once again made by Viva Lai. He has updated his previous sculpture and made it even better. The likeness of Benedict Cumberbatch is on point. This is an amazing headsculpt! I love the hair strands on the front.
Then, you have the third eye headsculpt and it’s just as great except there’s the creepy factor with it. I’m not sure I will display him like that often but I appreciate they included this headsculpt too.
Both head sculpts are just one piece, with no separation between the neck and the head which means it looks better but the articulation range is more limited. You can move the head on each side, he can look up and look down.
