This week on The Official Chart, Trolls Band Together, while we get a Violent Night, leaving Oppenheimer to blast to the top!
Welcome to The Official Film Chart.
THE UK TOP TEN
The last chart for November sees two new entries and two re-entries into the placings. As such, we must bid goodbye to Blue Beetle, Expend4bles, Fast X, and No Hard Feelings. But what could the new and returning titles be, and where have they entered the chart? Start the countdown as we find out.

OPPENHEIMER EXPLODES INTO THE TOP SPOT!
Oppenheimer makes one of the biggest debuts of the year on the UK’s Official Film Chart. Flying straight in at Number 1, the Christopher Nolan-directed blockbuster saw 113,800 sales in its first week across both disc and digital downloads. It’s one of the biggest opening weeks of the year, following Avatar: The Way of Water (175k opening week sales) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (126k).
Oppenheimer stars Cillian Murphy as theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer – the “father of the atom bomb” – in this biographical thriller documenting his life and career, including his direction of the Manhattan Project during World War II. The film, boosted thanks to the Barbenheimer phenomenon this summer (when cinemagoers would see Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day), became the UK’s second highest-grossing film theatrically of 2023.

THE CREATOR GETS KNOCKED BACK!
The Creator finishes at Number 2 following its own chart-topping debut last week. (Read our review here.)

THE TROLLS BAND TOGETHER!
Our second and final brand-new entry hits the chart at Number 3 in Trolls Band Together. The animated musical adventure follow-up to Trolls World Tour – which broke records as the first film to spend six consecutive weeks at Number 1 in the UK back in 2020 – manages an impressive Top 3 debut on digital downloads only. (Read our review here.)

MISSION: DEFEATED!
Former chart-topper Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One drops a place to Number 4. (Read our review here.)

BARBIE BEGINS TO MELT!

THE NUN RETURNS!
The terrifying sequel The Nun II returns to the chart following its release on disc at Number 6.

MARIO BOUNCES ON THE SPOT!
The Super Mario Bros. Movie bounces on the spot as it holds onto the Number 7 position.

HERCULE POIROT GETS SCARED OFF!
A Haunting In Venice gets scared off this week as it falls six places to Number 8. (Read our review here.)

GRAN TURISMO SUFFERS BRAKING FAILURE!
Gran Turismo suffers from a severe failure of its brakes as it slips three places to Number 9. (Read our review here.)

THE CHART HAS A VIOLENT NIGHT AGAIN!
Rounding out this week’s Top 10 is Violent Night, jumping ten places. The comedy-thriller starring David Harbour as Santa Claus previously peaked at Number 9 – will it reach new heights this festive season? (Read our review here.)

FINISHING OFF!
That’s all folks!! The chart for this week is done. Next week, we can expect to see a few more newcomers, such as Denzel Washington in The Equalizer 3, and the comedy Dumb Money after hitting the retail market. Will one of them hit the top of the chart tree? All will be revealed next Wednesday, so until then…
Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
