The Sandworms in the Desert of Arrakis have dragged in a brand new trailer for the science fiction sequel Dune Part Two. The film is the concluding part of Frank Herbert’s original novel. After the superb first movie, this time, it will be more action-packed and exciting. Timothée Chalamet returns as the main character, Paul Atreides as he continues his journey as “Muad’Dib”, so called by the Fremen. Zendaya as Chani, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban, Stephen McKinley Henderson as Thufir Hawat, Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, Charlotte Rampling as Gaius Helen Mohiam, and Javier Bardem as Stilgar all return from the first film.
Newcomers for this concluding chapter include Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, the Emperor’s daughter, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, and the legendary Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV. The sequel is again directed by Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts. Hans Zimmer again composes and provides the score for the film.
THE PREMISE
Paul Atreides continues his journey, united with Chani and the Fremen. He seeks revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. And endeavors to prevent a terrible future that only he can predict.
THE FUTURE
The film is rumored to be two hours and forty-six minutes long. The M.P.A. has rated the film a PG-13 already, even though the film isn’t opening until March 1st, 2024. But what’s more exciting is the news that Denis Villeneuve intends to make a film version of Dune Messiah, the second novel in the series. The director has stated that he will make the film as the final part of a trilogy. Fans of the novel will already know how it ends and it would indeed be the perfect end to the Dune saga.
Dune Part Two will blow into theaters from the desert of Arrakis on March 1st, 2024.
