Get in loser, you’re getting burned! Hot on the tail of the new featurette, Paramount Pictures has unveiled the new character burn book pages for the upcoming Mean Girls. The film is scheduled to hit cinemas on January 17th. And looks to be a hilarious riot of fun for fans and non-fans, young and old. The new version of the classic 2004 movie is based on the Broadway musical of the same name, itself a musical adaptation of the Tina Fey-written, Mark Waters-directed original. Tina Fey returns to write the new version as well as reprise her role as Ms. Norbury. Tim Meadows as Principal Duvall also reprises his role from the 2004 movie.
The new musical version features an ensemble cast that includes Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auliʻi Cravalho, and Christopher Briney. Composer Jeff Richmond and lyricist Nell Benjamin have returned to rework their songs from the stage musical. While Richmond has also composed the film’s score. Originally, the film was due to premiere on Paramount+ before wiser heads prevailed, granting the film a cinematic release.
