“Percy Jackson and the Olympians delivers a thrilling fourth episode with a tense atmosphere as Percy and his friends are hunted. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat.”
Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been a satisfying series so far with its first three episodes. Undoubtedly, it was the adaptation that us fans had been waiting for. The fourth episode releases tomorrow on Disney Plus, so get ready!
HUNTED

Last week, Percy Jackson and his friends were derailed from their quest just after it started. This lead them to face off Medusa. But it was only the beginning. In this episode, they are hunted by forces much more powerful than they had anticipated. You can feel it throughout the episode that the heroes are really struggling. They actually sustain injuries. Even though I read the book, this episode has kept me on the edge of my seat. The stakes are high, danger is everywhere. Whether it is the danger or the stakes, I never felt them in the film. Here in the series, it is palpable. You care for the characters, you fear for them. This makes all the difference.
There isn’t much fight scenes in this episode. In fact, it is really about the enemy coming for Percy, Annabeth and Grover. It is a hunt. And as such, there is a tense atmosphere building up over the episode. Although, it may be the shortest episode of the series so far but with only half an hour, it is able to deliver high on the thrills. The runtime of an episode doesn’t make its quality, it is its content. And this one has everything it needs.
I have said it in my review of last week’s episode and my review of the series premiere, but I will say it again, the visual effects are really impressive. Once again, in this episode the monster looks so real. It’s definitely my favourite one. This one has a complex design and the VFX team has done a fantastic work creating him.
ON THE ROAD

Moreover, this episode continues to develop and strengthen the bonds between Percy, Annabeth and Grover. This episode is able to do both character development and a thrilling hunt. Little by little, we learn more about Annabeth and her past. The story takes its time. Indeed, there are eight episodes to explore these characters.
I find it so compelling to see the difference between her relationship with her mother Athena and Percy’s relationship with his father Poseidon. Annabeth has been a part of this world for longer than Percy, so she is used to how the gods treat their children. But, Percy is new to this and he has a different experience with the concept of parents. We have seen he had a loving mother. There is actually a touching scene with Percy and Annabeth talking about parents. This is part of the reason why I find this team so interesting. They come from different backgrounds and have different experiences. When you think about it, it is an unlikely team but that is what makes their strength, they learn from each other.
