Cyclops, Jean Grey, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Goblin Queen, and X-Cutioner are making their way to the Marvel Legends X-Men ’97 line. Images and details are here.
With the first wave of Marvel Legends X-Men ’97 figures now hitting the shelves, Hasbro has dropped our first look at wave 2. After delivering wonderful renditions of Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Storm, Magneto, and Bishop, the toy giant is adding some villains to the line. The hotly anticipated sequel series will be bringing us face-to-face with Goblin Queen and the lethal mercenary The X-Cutioner and Hasbro has thrown down the gantlet by introducing them into wave 2.
But an X-Men line wouldn’t be the same without a handful of our mutant heroes to save the day. And Hasbro has unleashed Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Nightcrawler to fend off the villains. Lastly, rounding out the set is an all-new version of Magneto. The new variant showcases the master of magnetism after he discards his armor and helmet following the loss of Charles Xavier. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Fuel up the Blackbird and check out the full details below.

RELEASE
As mentioned above, these incredible-looking figures are due to go up for pre-order within days. And I am already deep into scratching my collector itch. Having almost completed the first wave, I am desperate to get my hands on wave 2. Although some of the face sculpts aren’t the best we’ve seen, the figures are rivaling Hasbro’s recent VHS line which delivered some of the best X-Men figures to date. They may not boast the same shading, but what they lack in this area is made up for with their accessories. Wolverine alone has two head variants and additional hands. And with the main roster of Wave 2 boasting similar additions, X-Men fans are certainly eating well here.
Either way, Cyclops is already shooting straight to the top of my wishlist. And with Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Magneto, Goblin Queen, and The X-Cutioner rounding out the wave, it’s time to make space on the shelf. So watch your favorite vendors for pre-orders and add some mutant mayhem into your life. Because when the new animated series kicks into high gear you’ll be thanking yourself that you grabbed when you did!

Wish they would give us a Kree/Shi’ar wave from ep 6. We really need a Deathbird now that we have Lilandra. And the Imperial guard needs to expand beyond just Fang and Gladiator.
100% agree. It would be great to see the line expand beyond the core of the X-Men.
