The Mandalorian Season 4 in Development

Although Din Djarin is moving to the big screen, a fourth season of The Mandalorian is planned at Lucasfilm

The new year is off to a flying start. Especially in the galaxy far, far away. Not only has Lucasfilm confirmed a second season of Dave Filoni’s superb Star Wars: Ahsoka – but Din Djarin and Grogu will be making the transition to the big screen in their own feature film. Set to be directed by series creator Jon Favreau, the adventures of Mando and Grogu are coming to a cinema near you. What’s more, the movie will be shooting later in the year!

Ordinary this news alone would be enough to have us dancing around like a Wookiee at a Porg banquet. But now, aside from THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU getting the green light, Deadline is reporting the fourth season of The Mandalorian is still moving ahead. With the announcement of the new feature film, many fans feared the worst for the fourth season of the hit Disney+ series. But those fears appear to be unfounded.

THIS IS THE WAY

Deadline reports “It’s not yet been confirmed whether Pascal will reprise his role as the Mandalorian for the new film. At present, a fourth season of his hit series is also in development.”

So, aside from Mando’s big screen debut which begins shooting later in the year, we have a fourth (and final?) season of the flagship show to look forward to. It is worth noting that Deadline’s report hints that Pedro Pascal is yet to be confirmed for either the movie or Mando Season 4. But surely the announcement confirming his involvement will arrive sooner rather than later. After all, Grogu needs his father. And Pedro has been his surrogate father for many years now. Moreover, the movie just wouldn’t be the same without the instantly recognizable tones of Pedro Pascal’s voice.

RELEASE

What Jon Favreau has up his sleeve for The Mandalorian & Grogu remains to be seen. After all, Lucasfilm is keeping their cards pretty close to the chest with this one. But with tons of adventures already behind them, surely the studio is onto a winner here. In addition to The Mandalorian and Grogu, the studio is working on several Star Wars projects. These include Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Rey Skywalker movie and James Mangold’s exploration of the Dawn of the Jedi. And finally, Dave Filoni’s expansion will culminate the adventures of the MandoVerse. So the Star Wars sandbox is extremely active just now. And pretty soon, fans young and old will be enjoying the saga where it belongs. On the big screen!

As always, we’ll update the site as soon as we hear more about this release. But in the meantime, get ready to welcome another slew of adventures with the galaxy’s favorite father/son duo.
