The Eighth Wonder of the World and the King of Monsters are roaring into the S.H MonsterArts Godzilla x Kong collection
Although the release of GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE is still a few months away, Tamashii Nations is well ahead of the curve. The toy giant has dropped our first look at the upcoming S.H. MonsterArts action figures that accompany the film. And if you were hoping for new sculpts of the behemoths of the MonsterVerse, you’re in for a treat.
Standing at a somewhat underwhelming 6.3″ and 5.7″ tall respectively, the series kicks off with Godzilla and Kong in all their glory. However, in a bizarre twist, the figures appear to be new versions of the Godzilla vs Kong collection and not updates from the new movie. Neither Zilla nor the Eighth Wonder of the World feature their new looks or weaponry from the upcoming sequel. Which is a little bizarre. But the monsters do look exceptional and boast a typically robust collection of interchangeable parts. However, this offering from Tamashii Nations appears to be a bit lackluster. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Grab a vine and swing down to the full reveal below.

The Godzilla figure will stand at 6.3″ tall. It includes interchangeable hands and a heat ray blast effect.
S.H. MONSTERARTS KONG
Kong will stand at 5.7″ tall. It includes interchangeable portraits, interchangeable hands, and an ax.
RELEASE
Although these figures look exceptional, fans will be left wondering why Kong doesn’t come with his new “Infinity Gauntlet.” Moreover, Godzilla has been revealed to be rocking a pinkish-red atomic fire breath in this sequel, and yet the figure only comes with the iconic blue-tinted version. Why Tamashii Nations has chosen this option remains to be seen. But hopefully more will be revealed nearer the time of release. Failing that, an updated collection featuring the updated bells and whistles will follow later in the year.
In the meantime, pre-orders for these figures will open on January 12th from wherever you buy your figures from. Expect both Godzilla and Kong to arrive in your mailbox in April and set you back about $57 each. Be sure to catch GODZILLA X KONG when it arrives in cinemas this March.
