The title for the Fede Álvarez horror sequel/ prequel has been confirmed. Are you ready to experience Alien: Romulus this summer?
Welcome back, Alien. It has been far too long. After being rumored for what feels like an age, the title of the Fede Álvarez horror sequel/ prequel has been confirmed. On August 16th, we will experience Alien: Romulus. The film is set outside the Alien franchise we have seen so far. Featuring a new cast in an unrelated adventure. However, it has rumored that the film will be set on LV-426. The planet is featured in the first two films and the main setting for Aliens. It apparently is being called a ‘Mid-quel’, set in between the events of the original Alien and Aliens.
The cast features a set of young stars such as Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. Ridley Scott takes on a producing role alongside Michael Pruss. Fede Álvarez doubles down by providing the screenplay alongside Rodo Sayagues. The film will be released theatrically after the plan for the film to be released on Hulu, in the same way as Prey, was abandoned.

WHAT DO WE KNOW SO FAR?
According to reports in The Hollywood Reporter, the film is said to be
“as opposed to the other movies which focused on adults in corporate, militaristic and scientific roles, this now-ninth instalment of the franchise will focus on a group of young people. On a distant colony, the group finds themselves in a fight for their lives with the titular alien, a creature known as a Xenomorph, whose race propagates by implanting eggs into people’s stomachs via face-huggers, with the juveniles eventually violently bursting out of the host’s chest.”

All will be revealed on August 16th when Alien: Romulus opens in cinemas.
