Jenny Slate returns with her second stand-up comedy special called Seasoned Professional. Her first special was Stage Fright in 2019 for Netflix. This time, she has teamed up with A24 and Prime Video. It premieres in more than 240 countries and territories on February 23 on Netflix.

LOVE AND FAMILY LIFE

When Jenny Slate comes on stage, you immediately know you are going to have a good time. Indeed, she is energetic and she starts right away with some small jokes warming up for the big stories. For her second special, Jenny Slate talks about many things including having a baby and her love life in a way that only her can do. I have found myself laughing out loud so many times during her special. She has a sharp humour with a touch of folly. She talks about so many things. Undoubtedly, there is never a dull moment with her.

I have seen many comedians talk about having a baby and/or giving birth but Jenny Slate’s story might be one of my favourites. She talks about it in such a ridiculous way while also making total sense. Just to give you an idea, in one moment she can talk about having an episode of diarrhoea and then connect it to giving birth.

THERAPY

Moreover, Slate also talks about her therapist and how she loves her but she’s out of her league. But more importantly, Slate tells a story about stalking her and her daughter. The whole time she talked about that, all I could think about is when is she making a film out of this? Like this is the perfect script for a comedy film. This needs to happen! I think we’ll all be waiting. When Jenny Slate finally bid the audience goodbye, I thought “already?” but it just started! One hour passes by too quickly. I know American comedy specials are only one hour long these days but I wish they were longer especially when you have such a good laugh.
