This week on The Official Film Chart, Wicked Little Letters are delivered and The Holdovers returns, but it’s One Life that takes the top spot.
Welcome to The Official Film Chart.
THE TOP TEN
This week in the top ten placings, we see one new entry and one re-entry into the placings. To accommodate these titles, it is the end of the chart road for Hop and Migration. But what is the all-important number one title? Is it a case of as you were or has something else taken over? Let’s find out.

ONE LIFE TAKES THE TOP SPOT!
Biographical drama One Life lifts to Number 1 on the Official Film Chart. Starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, One Life is based on the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 predominantly Jewish children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia. The film lifts three places week-on-week.

WONKA REMAINS STUCK IN TOFFEE AT NUMBER TWO!
The former chart-topper Wonka remains stuck for another week at Number 2. (Read our review here.)

AQUAMAN SINKS TO NUMBER THREE!
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom drops two places to Number 3, denied a fifth week at Number 1. (Read our review here.)

OPPENHEIMER BLASTS BACK!
The chart mainstay Oppenheimer jumps five places to Number 4.

BARBIE STILL REFUSING TO MOVE!
Barbie holds strong at Number 5 for another week. (Read our review here.)

THE HOLDOVERS HAVE RETURNED!
Award-winning comedy-drama The Holdovers, starring Paul Giamatti, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Dominic Sessa, enters the Top 10 for the very first time at Number 6.

THE MEG SWIMMING IN CIRCLES!
Meg 2: The Trench is swimming in circles as it remains at Number 7. (Read our review here.)

WICKED LITTLE LETTERS ARE DELIVERED!
Our highest new entry this week is Wicked Little Letters, a comedy-drama starring Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley, which lands straight in at Number 8. (Read our review here.)

THE EQUALIZER IS SHOT DOWN!
The Equalizer 3 at Number 9 drops three places.

KUNG FU PANDA KEEPS FIGHTING!
The 2008 Dreamworks favourite Kung Fu Panda holds firm at Number 10.

ARE YOU GOING TO BE RETURNING TO ARRAKIS ON PVOD?
And that is this week’s top ten chart placings. Lurking under the sand of the chart is the epic science fiction sequel Dune Part Two. The concluding part of Frank Herbert’s original novel emerged like a sandworm and went on to great box office success. (Read our review here.) The film is now available on PVOD. As usual, the film is priced at £15.99 to rent or £19.99 to buy. But in a VERY rare move from me, I have bought the film to add to my collection at £19.99. Considering I think it is a masterpiece, some things just have to be done.

Will the Sandworms emerge next week to make a bid for the top of the chart? Anything is possible. So, until next week…
Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
