The press tour for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has begun. The stars of the film, Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, convened with writer-director George Miller for the press event. The tour has started in Hemsworth and Miller’s home country of Australia. All three posed for photos as they began their worldwide publicity tour for the film. The fifth in the Mad Max franchise. The film is set for release on the 23rd of May.
PREMISE
15-20 years before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road, someone takes young Furiosa from the Green Place of Many Mothers – a world that is already falling apart. And into the hands of a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. While two Tyrants war for dominance over the Citadel, Furiosa survives many trials. As she plots a way back home through the Wasteland.
George Miller has stated that the new film will have a blink and you’ll miss it appearance of Mad Max in some capacity. It remains uncertain whether there will be a cameo from Tom Hardy or merely a fleeting glimpse of Max’s car. Nonetheless, Miller has mentioned that he envisions a screenplay set one year prior to the events of Mad Max: Fury Road. Could the idea he has in mind be the long-rumoured Mad Max: The Wasteland? Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga could lead the way for more movies in the franchise, which started back in 1979 with Mel Gibson in the original Mad Max. We can only hope.
