A New Tomb Raider Series From Pheobe Waller-Bridge is Heading to Prime Video

Prime Video has officially approved Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Tomb Raider series.
Lara Croft is ready to desecrate another tomb in a new TOMB RAIDER series.
In the last few hours, Prime Video has revealed the first trailer for “THE RINGS OF POWER” Season 2 and announced a treasure trove of new content for the platform. The significant announcements include a release date for the highly anticipated “FEDERER: THE FINAL DAYS” and a sequel to Jake Gyllenhaal’s “ROADHOUSE” remake. A new ‘SPIDER-MAN: NOIR‘ live-action series has been given the green light with Nicolas Cage, and we got our first look at the outrageous new comedy, “YOU’RE CORDIALLY INVITED.”
However, these aren’t the only significant announcements to emerge from the streamer’s first foray into upfront events. Deadline reports that a live-action “TOMB RAIDER” series has officially been approved. Phoebe Waller-Bridge (INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY) is writing and developing the epic globetrotting series.

“If I could tell my teenage self this was happening I think she’d explode. Tomb Raider has been a huge part of my life and I feel incredibly privileged to be bringing it to television with such passionate collaborators. Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ‘n all.” Waller-Bridge said. “The opportunity to have, as we were talking earlier, a female action character…. Having worked on Bond and having worked as an actor on Indy, I feel like I’ve been building up to this. What if I could take the reins on an action franchise, with everything I’ve learned, with a character I adore, and also just bring back some of that ’90s vibe? And it’s such a wonderful feeling to think you know what to do.” she continued.
A BOLD NEW DIRECTION
Waller-Bridge believes that with Tomb Raider, she can do something “dangerous and exciting.” She also emphasized the large number of Lara Croft fans that she aims to satisfy. Could this be hinting at a new Tomb Raider universe on Prime Video? It certainly seems that way. Besides the live-action series, rumors indicate that a brand-new movie is already in the works. So, the future of Lara Croft looks promising, with a new lease on life through Prime Video.
