Jake Gyllenhaal will return as Elwood Dalton in the sequel to the reboot of the 1989 classic action movie.
Despite a critical mauling, the reboot of the 1989 Patrick Swayze action movie Road House was a success on streaming. The film, featuring Jake Gyllenhaal as Ex-UFC fighter Elwood Dalton became one of the biggest streaming movies to debut on Prime Video. Gyllenhaal recently stated that he would be interested in returning to the role for another round of action and chaos. He may be just about to get his wish.

It is being said that Road House 2 is currently in the works. Although there is no official confirmation as yet, it appears the project is a go. The story is doing the rounds that Gyllenhaal is returning as Dalton. There is no word on whether Doug Liman will be returning to direct the sequel. Or if Daniella Melchoir, Jessica Williams, or Conor McGregor will be back. McGregor appeared to die in the first film, only to be revealed to be alive during a mid-credits scene.
THOUGHTS
It makes sense for a sequel to be on the way. However, the plotline for it is less clear. The climax of the first film saw Dalton leave the Road House and his friends behind by boarding a bus out of town. If a sequel is to be made, it would be hard for Dalton to return to the Florida Keys to become the bar’s bouncer again. It would be lazy writing to have another property developer threaten the bar and its customers. It would be better to have Dalton being the cooler at another establishment somewhere else. Of course, McGregor’s character of Knox could return seeking revenge for Dalton almost killing him. But I’ll leave that up to the writers.

We will bring you an official announcement when it is made. You can catch the remake now on Prime Video.
