Spider-Man Noir Series With Nicolas Cage Gets The Greenlight From Prime Video

Nicolas Cage is set to reprise his role as Spider-Man Noir in a live-action series for Amazon/MGM Studios.
Aside from delivering one of the greatest superhero movies of all time, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduced Spider-Man Noir to mainstream audiences, voiced by the exceptional Nicolas Cage. The character instantly became a fan favorite, and many fans called for more adventures with the shadowy wall-crawler.
Today, Prime Video announced that the wall-crawler is getting his very own live-action series. What’s more, Nicolas Cage is returning to the role and will continue the story he began in “Into The Spider-Verse.” According to Deadline, the series, titled NOIR, is already well into development and is being overseen by Oren Uziel (“The Lost City”) and Steve Lightfoot (“The Punisher”). In addition to collaborating as co-showrunners, the duo also executive-produces the show. Additionally, Harry Bradbeer directed and executive produced the first two episodes.
RETRO WALL-CRAWLER
NOIR has been developed by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, the team behind “SPIDER-MAN INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE,” who will all also serve as executive producers on the series. The series will follow our beloved wall-crawler in 1930s New York after he has retired his superhero costume for good.
SYNOPSIS
“Noir tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”

This is fantastic news! Spider-Man Noir was one of the major highlights of the Spider-Verse movies, and continuing his story in live-action is exciting. And with Nicolas Cage returning as the character, the series just became unmissable.
Currently, Amazon/MGM has not confirmed an official release date. However, since the series has been in development for over a year, we should hear something concrete from the studio soon.
