The sweeping, highly anticipated second season of Pachinko gets first-look images and the main title sequence is revealed. Catch it on August 23rd.

Apple TV+ today unveiled a first look and the premiere date for the second season of its award-winning and critically hailed, epic hit drama “Pachinko.” Told in three languages — Korean, Japanese, and English. And consisting of eight, one-hour episodes, season two of “Pachinko” will premiere globally on Friday, August 23 with one episode. Followed by one episode weekly every Friday through October 11. Originating from Media Res, “Pachinko” has been lauded for its grand narrative and acclaimed as “an immersive, poignant journey that is a must-see.” The series achieved Certified Fresh status on Rotten Tomatoes during its first season and garnered praise as “masterful,” celebrated as “an extraordinary drama” and recognized as “one of the standout shows of 2022.”

BASED ON THE BESTSELLING NOVEL

Based on The New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, “Pachinko” is a sweeping and deeply moving story of love and survival across four generations. The first season received eleven international awards including a Peabody Award. An American Film Institute Award. A Critics Choice Award and a Gotham Independent Film Award. Season two stars Lee Minho, Minha Kim, and Anna Sawai. Yuh-Jung Youn, Jin Ha. Eunchae Jung, Soji Arai. Junwoo Han, and Sungkyu Kim.

BEHIND THE SCENES

“Pachinko” is a creation of Soo Hugh, who also serves as the executive producer, alongside Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer of Media Res, and Theresa Kang of Blue Marble Pictures. The second season is directed by Leanne Welham, Arvin Chen, and Sang-il Lee.

Pachinko Season 2 premieres on August 23rd on Apple TV+
