Gotham Is Ripe For The Taking In The New Trailer For The Penguin

After the events of “The Batman,” The Penguin is determined to seize power from the crime families of Gotham City.

Max has finally released an exciting new trailer for THE PENGUIN. The spin-off series takes place after the events of The Batman, depicting Gotham City in ruins with its streets submerged in water. In the upcoming limited series, Colin Farrell reprises his role as The Penguin, offering a vision of the iconic Bat villain that is reportedly more intense and violent than ever.

The eight-episode series aims to delve deeper into Batman’s world, building anticipation for the highly anticipated sequel. The path ahead for the infamous DC villain won’t be without challenges. Carmine Falcone’s offspring have emerged to assert their rights to their father’s wealth, while Salvatore Maroni continues to exert influence from behind bars. But before we delve further into the series, check out the new trailer below.

SYNOPSIS

Following the events of “The Batman,” Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. The Penguin, makes a play to seize the reins of the crime world in Gotham.

Ordinarily, the new trailer alone would be enough to have us lighting the Bat signal. But thankfully, the studio has treated us to an all-new poster for the series. The striking one-sheet features a menacing Colin Farrell as the ultra-violent crime boss looming ominously over the city. Take a look at it below.

CAST 

Colin Farrell will be joined by a talented cast in his standalone DC series. The cast includes Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz as Victor Aguilar, Michael Kelly as Johnny Viti, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Nadia Maroni, Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, James Madio as Milos Grapa, Scott Cohen as Luca Falcone, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, Carmen Ejogo as Eve Karlo, and Theo Rossi as Dr. Julian Rush.

Despite lacking a definite release date, the studio has announced that the series is set to debut on Max in September. So, our return to Gotham City is happening sooner rather than later. It’s still uncertain if the series will effectively capture the captivating atmosphere that Matt Reeves established in his groundbreaking movie. However, based on the trailer, it seems like the series is going to offer an unmissable experience, and that is definitely an exciting prospect.
