This week on The Official Chart, Abigail takes another bite, and The New Empire Falls, leaving the Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes to rule!
Welcome to The Official Film Chart.
THE UK TOP TEN
This week sees a single new entry and one re-entry into the chart placings. These arrivals mean it’s the end of the road for the time being for Challengers and Wicked Little Letters. And we also have a brand new number-one title. What could it be? Was my prediction from last week correct? Let’s find out if Apes. Together. Strong!

THE KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES RISES TO RULE THE CHART!
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes makes a Number 1 debut on the Official Film Chart. The standalone sequel to 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes flies in at the top spot with 59.6k sales entirely on digital downloads. Starring Owen Teague and Freya Allan, the takes place many years after the previous film; with apes now the dominant species on earth and humans living in the shadows, a young ape embarks on a journey that will lead him to question everything he thought he knew about the past and make choices that will define the future for both apes and humans. ABIGAIL BITES BACK!

DO YOU WANT TO BE ONE OF THE WATCHED OR FEEL THE STING?
And that is the end of this week’s chart rundown. This week’s offerings on PVOD are two movies that will chill you to the bone. The first is The Watched. The film is a supernatural horror film written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan in her directorial debut, produced by M. Night Shyamalan, and based on the 2022 novel of the same name by A. M. Shine. It stars Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, Olwen Fouéré, and Oliver Finnegan. The film has been a critical and financial failure, garnering negative reviews and has taken only $33 Million against a budget of £30 Million. But it is a chilling movie, set in Ireland that will have you hiding behind the sofa cushions.

The second movie is Sting. A word of warning, if you’re scared of spiders…steer clear! This isn’t the film for you! The film follows a young girl who secretly raises a spider as her pet, which then transforms into a giant monster. If you’ve seen the trailers, you ain’t seen anything yet! The film was made in Australia with an Australian cast. But you’d never know it when you watch the film. If watching a giant creepy crawly or being watched by monsters outside a bunker-like building are your thing, you can rent either film for £15.99 or buy them early for £19.99 each.

NEXT WEEK
Can either film make an impact on the chart placings next week? Can The Watched tempt you into watching it? Will Sting leap out at you and scare you into viewing it? Or will the Apes remain strong together at the top of the chart? Anything is possible, so until next time…
Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!
