Gotham Is Ripe For The Taking In The New Trailer For The Penguin

Colin Farrell returns as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot in the limited series “The Penguin,” coming to HBO this September.

After debuting at this year’s SDCC, MAX has released the new trailer for THE PENGUIN from Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, debuting this September. Starring Colin Farrell as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot  (aka “The Penguin”), the eight-episode DC Studios drama series continues The Batman epic crime saga that filmmaker Matt Reeves began with Warner Bros. Pictures’ global blockbuster “The Batman,” and centers on the character played by Farrell in the film. Created by Lauren LeFranc, the series also stars Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Carmine’s daughter who fights Cobblepot for control of Gotham City’s criminal underworld after her father’s death.

PREMISE

One week following The Batman’s events, the series explores the rise to power of Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot / Penguin in Gotham City’s criminal underworld.

BEHIND THE SCENES

The series has Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, and Colin Farrell as its executive producers. Lauren LeFranc, who writes and serves as showrunner, Craig Zobel, who directs the first three episodes, and Bill Carraro. The Penguin, based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, is produced by Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions. And Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Where Reeves and 6th & Idaho are under an overall deal, Daniel Pipski also serves as executive producer.

The additional cast includes Michael Kelly, who portrays Johnny Vitti, the underboss of the Falcone crime family. Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, Carmine’s son and Sofia’s brother. And the legendary Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, A mob boss, and gangster in Gotham City whose operation ended in Gotham’s historic drug bust, in which Carmine was the informant.

The Penguin will premiere on September 19th on HBO and other streaming platforms worldwide.
