Annie Baker’s miraculous film debut Janet Planet is now available to watch at home. It’s “A Perfect Coming-Of-Age Story.”

The directorial debut of the Pulitzer Prize winner, Annie Baker, is now available to watch at home. From A24, Janet Planet has been described as a “Masterpiece…A Perfect Coming-Of-Age Story” by Alissa Wilkinson from the New York Times. The film stars Julianne Nicholson, Zoe Ziegler, Elias Koteas, Will Patton, and Sophie Okonedo. Mary Shultz. Edie Moon Kearns. June Walker Grossman. And Abby Harri also star in the critically acclaimed film, which opened in US theaters on June 21st this year.

PREMISE

In 1991, an acupuncturist hippie named Janet spends the summer at home in rural western Massachusetts with her 11-year-old daughter, Lacy. Janet invites three people into her life: her boyfriend Wayne, her friend Regina, and local theatre group leader Avi. Lacy becomes skeptical of the three and remains attached to Janet, who grows frustrated with her daughter’s clinginess.
