Are you ready to meet the Woman Of The Hour?

Those of us of a certain age remember the TV show The Dating Game. It ran for many years, on and off TV and has spawned countless different versions around the world. It may come as a surprise to discover that several famous names participated in the show before finding stardom. Illustrious names such as Steve Martin, Burt Reynolds, John Ritter, Phil Hartman, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Alex Kozinski appeared during the series of revivals over the years. However, one guest on the show stands out from the rest, and not in a good way. The serial killer Rodney Alcala appeared on the show, winning a date with Cheryl Bradshaw in the midst of his murder spree. This earned him the nickname of ‘The Dating Game Killer.’

Now, that story has been turned into a movie. Coming from Netflix, the movie Woman Of The Hour is almost upon us. The film is directed by Anna Kendrick in her directorial debut and written by Ian McDonald. Anna Kendrick also stars in the film as Cheryl Bradshaw with Daniel Zovatto as Rodney Alcala. Nicolette Robinson. Tony Hale. Kathryn Gallagher. Kelley Jakle. Autumn Best. Jessie Fraser. Taylor Hastings. Jedidiah Goodacre and Darcy Laurie are appearing in supporting roles.

PREMISE

The stranger-than-fiction story of an aspiring actress in 1970s Los Angeles and a serial killer in the midst of a yearslong murder spree. In 1978, serial killer Rodney Alcala appeared on The Dating Game and won a date with bachelorette Cheryl Bradshaw. At the time, Alcala had murdered five women, and his strange facade during the episode later nicknamed him “The Dating Game Killer”.
