Rediscover the horror of Nosferatu in Robert Eggers’ highly anticipated remake. Brace yourself for a captivating and chilling cinematic experience.
Universal Pictures has unveiled the chilling first poster for Robert Eggers’ remake of Nosferatu. The film has captured the attention of critics and casual viewers alike as they prepare for an epic reimagining of this controversial classic. The film’s original version was an unauthorized and unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula, and a court ruling mandated the destruction of all copies of the film. Thankfully, some prints survived.
Despite the background drama, the film has gone on to be regarded as a true classic that helped to shape the horror genre. Fast-forward one hundred and two years, and Robert Eggers is about to reunite us with the original vampire. Check out the new poster below for a sneak peek.
Thankfully, the poster keeps the chilling reveal of Count Orlock in the dark for now, which works in our favor. Reuniting us with Count Orlock, essentially Dracula, is a huge undertaking. So, the writer/director has enlisted his regular collaborator, Bill Skarsgård, to portray Orlock. Eggers has also assembled a stellar cast for the film, including Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe.
Skarsgard recently said that playing Nosferatu / Count Orlok was like “conjuring pure evil. It took a while for me to shake off the demon that had been conjured inside of me. … I do not think people are gonna recognize me in it.“
