Universal Pictures has just released a new trailer for Robert Eggers’s highly anticipated remake of Nosferatu. The initial trailer gave us a glimpse of what promises to be a genuinely chilling cinematic experience. Now, the latest trailer for this controversial classic takes us even further into the vampire’s world.

The film won’t hit the screens until New Year’s Day in the UK, but with all the positive buzz surrounding it, Universal is working hard to ensure we’re all suitably hyped. And if you are still unsure, the new trailer will send shivers down your spine and make you eager to book your tickets. But before Count Orlock sinks his fangs into us, scroll down and check out the new trailer below. Click here to check out the new chilling poster.

Thankfully, the trailer still keeps the chilling reveal of Count Orlock in the dark for now, which works in our favor. Reuniting us with Count Orlock, essentially Dracula, is a huge undertaking. So, the writer/director has enlisted his regular collaborator, Bill Skarsgård, to portray Orlock. Eggers has also assembled a stellar cast for the film, including Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe.

Skarsgard recently said that playing Nosferatu / Count Orlok was like “conjuring pure evil. It took a while for me to shake off the demon that had been conjured inside of me. … I do not think people are gonna recognize me in it.“

With Nosferatu, Eggers has drawn from his horror roots to create a chilling and ominous atmosphere that will keep us on the edge of our seats. By setting the film in the 19th Century, Eggers has created a fresh and exciting backdrop for his story. He has crafted a chilling atmosphere that brings his vampire to life. What’s great is that the film doesn’t hold back for younger audiences. The trailer has revealed some gruesome images that have thrilled horror fans, so start sharpening those fangs!

Roberts Eggers’ Nosferatu releases in UK cinemas on the 1st of January.
