Gladiator II

Paul Mescal plays Lucius in Gladiator II from Paramount Pictures.

Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, and Denzel Washington, Gladiator II will be back in the arena in November.

Prepare to be entertained. Twenty-four years after the original film wowed audiences, Gladiator II will be battling its way into the cinema arena. The movie, once again directed by the Oscar-winning Ridley Scott, will open on November 15th in the UK. And on November 22nd in the United States and Canada from Paramount Pictures. This sequel sees Paul Mescal lead the cast in the place of Russell Crowe. Whose character died at the climax of the original film. Crowe won the Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of Maximus Decimus Meridius.

Paul Mescal plays Lucius and Peter Mensah plays Jugurtha in Gladiator II from Paramount Pictures.

Joining Mascal in the movie will be Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, and Joseph Quinn. Fred Hechinger, the returning Connie Nielsen, and Derek Jacobi. Ahead of the new trailer for the film, which arrives this afternoon, check out the character posters for the epic sequel.

PREMISE

Several decades after the events of Gladiator. Lucius, the grandson of Rome’s former emperor Marcus Aurelius and son of Lucilla, lives with his wife and child in Numidia. Roman soldiers led by General Marcus Acacius invade, forcing Lucius into slavery. Inspired by the story of Maximus, Lucius resolves to fight as a gladiator. While opposing the rule of the young emperors Caracalla and Geta.
