By the power of Grayskull! Amazon has officially cast Jared Leto as Skeletor in the live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe. The movie has been in developmental hell for some time, but with Amazon MGM now in charge of the rights, the film is finally moving along the assembly line. Leto has been eyeing this role for a while, and after all the chatter, he’s officially signed on to play He-Man’s biggest foe.
Leto is the latest actor to join the project to play the villains. So far, Sam C. Wilson (House of the Dragon) has been cast as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson (Game of Thrones) will star as Goat Man and Kojo Attah (In the Grey) will bring Tri-Klops to life.

HEROES
The project has already assembled a fantastic cast to bring the film’s heroes to life. On board so far are Nicholas Galitzine (The Idea of You) as Prince Adam/He-Man, Camila Mendes (Do Revenge) as Captain Teela, Alison Brie (Community) as Evil-Lyn, and Idris Elba (Sonic the Hedgehog 3) as Man-at-Arms/Duncan.
The film was previously in the Netflix developmental machine with a succession of writers and directors attached to bring the project to life. But the streamer could never get the project off the ground. Now, after the rights fell into the lap of Amazon MGM Studios, the film is finally back on track with Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) set to direct from a script by Chris Butler, with initial drafts penned by David Callaham, and Aaron & Adam Nee.
