“Skeleton Crew delivers an entertaining episode with great visuals. The mystery around Jod Na Nawood deepens in exciting ways. Jude Law is having so much fun in this role, he’s a real scene stealer!”
It’s that time of the week for a new episode of Skeleton Crew and it’s also Christmas Day. It’s a wonderful present for Star Wars to wake up and have new content to enjoy. Episodes are released weekly on Wednesdays in the UK at 2 a.m. and on Tuesdays in the US at 6 p.m. PT on Disney +.
WHO IS JOD NA NAWOOD?

The mystery around Jod Na Nawood deepens in this episode. We learn more names he used but more importantly he uses the Force several times. So who he really is? One theory that is starting to make sense is that he could have been a youngling during Order 66 and he had to learn to survive after that, which would explain why he has so many identities. One thing is sure, he does know the Force and he knows a fair share about the Jedi. If you pay attention during his scene with Wim, he actually quotes Qui-Gon Jinn “your focus determines your reality.” These are clues. It’s actually exciting to keep guessing who Jod is. Even more so when this character is played by Jude Law who is clearly having so much fun! It’s truly a dream come true to see him in Star Wars.
GETTING CLOSER TO AT ATTIN?

This is yet another entertaining episode of Skeleton Crew. And yes, there is a guest-star appearance this week too! This time, it’s Kelly McDonald (Pixar’s Rebel, Trainspotting) as a bounty hunter named Pokkit. It’s simply nice to discover each week who is the new guest star because each time these are so unexpected! Story-wise, the series keeps moving forward at a steady pace, it makes sure to keep the audience invested. This one further delves into the world of pirates. It’s a real adventure that comes with some interesting reveals.
GREAT VISUALS

Moreover, this episode introduces us to a new snow planet with a luxury spa. It’s impressive to see how each location stands out in this series. It feels fresh and new while still having the Star Wars DNA. The luxury spa is reminiscent of Canto Bight but it has a more colourful and vacation-like vibe. The people behind this series understand what makes a Star Wars location. It’s not just about giving us another forest planet or another snow planet. It’s about giving us a planet that adds something and is not simply a rehash of what has come before.
On top of that, Skeleton Crew use great filmmaking techniques to bring to life this world. The use of miniatures for the ships really makes all the difference, it feels more real. Even the CGI is top notch for a series. We see a Hutt and a new creature in this episode, they both look incredibly well.
