A Closer Look at Chopper from the Ahsoka Star Wars Series

Another Hot Toys figure from Dave Filoni’s Star Wars: Ahsoka series has just hit the shelves early. This time, it’s Chopper! The figure is still available for pre-order at Sideshow Collectibles.

THE BOX AND ACCESSORIES

This is your usual Star Wars collectibles box. It’s a black box with a promotional picture of the figure and the Star Wars logo. For figures from the Ahsoka series, you get a blue colored strip with two additional photos of the figure to show you the different accessories included. In terms of accessories, it’s a droid, so you don’t get much, but you still get what’s needed for our grumpy little droid.

First, you get a centre tread leg with the wheel, then a pair of articulated mechanical arms that work with magnets, these are fully articulated. There is another pair of gesture arms; it’s just the tip, so you can interchange them by removing this part from the whole arm. There are also two antennas, one normal and one inclined. Moreover, as seen in episode two, you get the tracking device plus a holoprojector with Huyang’s hologram. Hopefully, Huyang will soon get the figure treatment by Hot Toys; he was an essential character in the series.

THE FIGURE

If you are a Star Wars Rebels and Ahsoka fan, there’s a good chance you will love Chopper. He’s a very opiniated and grumpy droid, what’s not to love? Seeing him as a Hot Toys figure makes me happy. That’s him right there! He’s smaller than the other astromech figures, which makes sense since he is indeed smaller. There’s some nice weathering here and there. This figure is highly detailed, sculpting many pieces around the main body. The paint app is also slick and has a nice metallic paint in some places.
