Game of Thrones star Rory McCann will replace the late Ray Stevenson in Dave Filoni’s second season of Star Wars: Ahsoka.
The Hound is heading to the galaxy far, far away. Following Ray Stevenson’s tragic passing, Star Wars fans had been worried about how Dave Filoni would handle Baylan Skoll’s role in season 2 of Ahsoka. Today, we got our answer. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Rory McCann has been cast as the character for season 2. The Game of Thrones and Knuckles star has become a Hollywood mainstay in recent years, but this new role represents a significant leap into another major franchise.
The last time we saw Baylan Skoll, he was stuck on Peridea with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren. He just found those statues of the Father, Brother, and Sister, which hints at some big stuff coming up in Season 2. It raises the stakes for the upcoming season, pointing to an intricate balance of the Force now at play. How Baylan Skoll will feature in the new season remains to be seen. But fans can rest easy knowing the character will be in safe hands.

Scottish actor Rory McCann, best known for playing the burly brute The Hound on HBO’s Game of Thrones, will replace late actor Ray Stevenson for a second season of Star Wars show Ahsoka, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Stevenson played the hulking former Jedi known as Baylan Skoll in the Disney+ series. He died after a brief illness in May 2023, three months before the series premiered. The actor was a fan favorite, thanks to his resonant voice, humor and roles in Punisher: War Zone, the Thor movies and TV’s Rome.
Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson as another former Jedi, the titular Ahsoka Tano, who teams with a former apprentice in order to stop the evil Empire from reforming. Two obstacles in her path were Skoll and his apprentice, Shin Hati, played by Ivanna Sakhno.
