Renowned British television personality Stephen Fry has stepped into the galaxy far, far away, lending his voice to the Supervisor in Jon Watts’ Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
There has been one persistent mystery from the opening moments of the first episode of Star Wars Skeleton Crew. Who is the mysterious voice behind At Attin’s Supervisor? Well, after seven thrilling episodes, we finally have our answer. The Supervisor is voiced by none other than British TV icon Stephen Fry.
His casting has been a closely guarded secret, known only to a few people in the hallowed halls at Lucasfilm. But now, with the actor’s iconic voice ringing out across the At Attin skyline, the Lothcat is out of the bag. While we don’t see him directly in the latest installment, Fry’s distinctive voice can be heard making an announcement during the episode. The end credits confirm that the former QI host is lending his vocals to the character.
THE SUPERVISOR
“Citizens of At Attin, this is the Supervisor speaking,” he is heard saying. “An Emmisary is arriving for a shipment, all non-essential work is suspended until offload is complete. Thank you, that is all.”
Fry is now the latest star to step into the galaxy far, far away. After all, Nick Frost brought SM-33 to life after his friend and long-time collaborator Simon Pegg portrayed Unkar Plutt in The Force Awakens. Daniel Craig slipped into Stormtrooper gear in the same movie. Then Tom Hardy did the same in The Last Jedi. More recently, Christopher Lloyd, Jack Black, Lizzo, Michael Biehn, and Richard Ayoade joined the fun with new characters in The Mandalorian. Plus, Hollywood icon Sigourney Weaver is set to appear in the upcoming film The Mandalorian & Grogu.
The Star Wars galaxy has become a magnet for both Hollywood legends and hardworking professionals alike. This expansive universe offers ample opportunities for everyone to get involved in its epic tales of the Force. Now, Stephen Fry joins the ranks of guest stars who have made the leap into this iconic world. May the tradition of welcoming such talent continue for years to come.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew concludes on Disney Plus on January 14th in the US and January 15th in the UK.
