The Aliens and Terminator legend joins the cast as a mysterious new bounty hunter
You’ve got to hand it to Jon Favreau, the guy knows how to assemble one hell of a cast!
The debut season of The Mandalorian (currently airing on the UK branch of Disney Plus) was packed full of glorious acting talent. The blend of wonderful young actors combined with seasoned veterans delivered what has gone on to become one the very best, if not the best television series in history. And for season two, Favreau is at it again!
Just days after Rosario Dawson was cast in the landmark role of Ahsoka Tano, we are hearing that Aliens and Terminator legend Michael Biehn has joined the cast as a mysterious new bounty hunter. Throughout his career, Biehn has been synonymous with memorable roles and according to Making Star Wars, who have an exceptional track record with these scoops, Biehn will be suiting up as a bounty hunter from Mando’s mysterious past. The outlet also states that Bill Burr, who portrayed the mercenary Mayfield in the first season of the series, will also be back for season two.
As a child of the eighties, I wholeheartedly welcome this casting. Aside from his noteworthy roles in The Rock and The Terminator, Biehn’s standout performance as Corporal Dwayne Hicks in James Cameron’s Aliens resonated with me and to this day, Biehn’s performance as the unshakable colonial marine is still my favorite in the franchise. Sorry, Sigourney!
All in all, The Mandalorian season two is shaping up to be just as awesome as the first, and I cannot wait. With Carl Weathers returning as Greef Karga and Gina Carano suiting up as Cara Dune once again Mando fans are in for one hell of a ride!
Thankfully, filming on The Mandalorian Season 2 wrapped before the coronavirus pandemic overwhelmed the world, so fingers crossed the series maintains its October 2020 air date. But given the current climate, nothing is ever certain.
We’ll keep you posted. Stay safe.
