Netflix has shared the first trailer for the animated adventure The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. The upcoming animated movie is emerging from the depths and onto the streamer on February 11, and today, the studio has pulled back the veil of secrecy to give us our first look at the film.

In the film, Geralt of Rivia is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. But can the fabled mutated monster hunter save the town from certain destruction? Or is this feat one adventure too far for the legendary Witcher? SYNOPSIS

Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends – old and new – to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war.

Netflix has gathered a remarkable team of talent to bring this new animated feature to life. Alongside writers Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, the film is guided by the directorial vision of Kang Hei Chul. Produced by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the project also features executive producers Mike Ostrowski, Tomek Bagiński, Jarosław Sawko from Platige, Jason F Brown, and Sean Daniel from Hivemind. As always, Andrzej Sapkowski, the author of The Witcher, is on board as a creative consultant to ensure that the film remains faithful to the source material.

The reception of Netflix’s animated Witcher projects has been somewhat mixed. While some offerings have been embraced by fans, others haven’t quite hit the mark.
